How do I use premier protein shakes for weight loss?
I strongly DO NOT recommend trying this.
Protein shakes are a great tool to use for supplementing extra protein and amino acids into your diet, but they are not fit to full-fill your daily nutritional needs.
A few years ago when I was experimenting with crash dieting and extended fasting (72hrs+) I had this same idea come into my mind. I’m a person who does my research before trying anything, so I did just that. From all my googling and forum searching, the unanimous answer was a NO.
Many protein shakes are high in protein and low in fat and carbs. While yes, you need ample protein to build muscle or maintain it during fat loss, you also need healthy fats and carbs to function properly.
In theory, you would lose a small amount of water weight from this, but I guarantee you will gain it back the second you stop. Not to mention, your bowel movements are not gonna be fun at all…
I know it’s a great idea to imagine getting in shape by fasting, eating restrictive diets, or only drinking protein shakes, but I promise you it is not sustainable.
Nonetheless, my stubborn self tried shortcutting my weight loss in all ways possible. In the final straw of my stationary weight loss journey, I even tried doing an LGD sarm cycle. It’s basically a steroid, but “minus the side effects.” Anyways, against all my research I did a one month cycle, shut my natural testosterone production down, and spiraled into binge eating and feeling like a piece of sh*t. I ended up going from 150 to 180 in a month and was worse than when I started.
Now to tie it all back in, it was not until after all this I realized the hard truth:
The only sustainable & healthy way to lose fat is with proper nutrition and exercise.
